The Artificial Sun is a Fusion generator that provides colossal amounts of electrical power. The reaction glows so bright that it illuminates the surrounding area and powers Solar Panels even during the Martian night. Players have to be careful to never shut the Artificial Sun down, as it requires quite a lot of water to be restarted. Since the colony is probably dependent on its Power it is best to ensure that they have the redundancies in place to keep it running at all times.
